ALUMNA SHINES AT SUMMER GAMES: Ruediger picks up Gold
Kate Ruediger, 2008-09 Varsity Blues team member and newly minted OISE alumni, captured a gold medal in the women's 400m at the Canada Summer Games on August 25 in Prince Edward Island, finishing the race in a time of 54.49 seconds, 0.44 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. OISE Teacher Education program  tops CK sustainability ranking
OISE has been ranked Canada's top school for Teacher Education, according to Corporate Knights magazine. The sixth annual Knight Schools Survey, which includes Teacher Education programs for the first time, analyzes how Canadian universities fare in integrating sustainability into the school experience. Award for modelling feminist scholarship and equity
Tara Goldstein has won the Canadian Association for the Study of Women and Education Carol Crealock Award for her contributions to mentoring young scholars, building feminist communities and dedication to making a difference in relation to social justice in education. The award honours a scholar who provides an exemplary model for equity and feminist scholarship and leadership in Canada. Professor Goldstein accepted the award on May 25 at the CSSE conference in Ottawa.

 

Research prize to boost math and science education in the U.S.
Indigo Esmonde has been awarded one of two coveted Research Fellowships by the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation, a national organization dedicated to advocating for improving the quality of high school science and mathematics teaching.
