OISE Staff Award honours for Susan Hall
Susan Hall, Graduate Program Coordinator in Adult Education and Counselling Psychology is the recipient of the 2009 OISE Staff Excellence Award for her deep commitment to excellence, outstanding service to the Institute, and creating a positive and lasting impact on the OISE community of faculty, students and staff. Susan will be honoured at the end-of-year Awards Ceremony on May 29 at 4:00 pm in the OISE Auditorium.

Alumni Peter Elson: Michel Laferriere Best Doctoral Thesis Award
Peter Elson, Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Nonprofit Studies, Mount Royal College, is the winner of the Michel Laferriere Best Doctoral Thesis Award from the Comparative and International Education Society of Canada. Peter will recieve the award at the Society's annual general meeting on May 25 at Carleton University. OISE grad student receives major national funding award
With an MA in School and Child Clinical Psychology almost complete and anticipating PhD studies this fall, Katie Lam is one of 34 U of T grad students to win a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, a prestigious new national award designed to recruit and retain top student talent and strengthen Canada's position as a world leader in higher education research. OISE alumni honoured during Education Week
Joe Tersigni (B.Ed. 1979), and Poleen Grewal (B.Ed. 1997), are among twenty educators to receive Ontario's top honours for their contributions to student learning and achievement. The Premier's Awards for Teaching Excellence celebrate these outstanding individuals who work in Ontario's schools. Joe received an award for Teacher of the Year, and Poleen received an award for Excellence in Leadership at a gala ceremony on May 5 at Ontario Place.
