Times Higher Education magazine has released some of its 2020 World University Rankings for individual subjects and the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) has come out on top in Canada.
In a ranking of 477 global universities, OISE is ranked 14th globally and as the top-ranked Canadian institute for education. For the third consecutive year, OISE ranks within the Top 20 global universities in this subject. U of T has also been ranked 10th overall in law, 27th in business and economics and 26th in social science education.
OISE’s ranking score was assessed by their performance in teaching, research, citations, industry outcome and international outlook.
“This latest ranking by Times Higher Education reinforces the notion that OISE consistently strives to be a Canadian and global leader in education,” said Glen Jones, OISE’s dean. “It attests to the strength of our faculty, the effectiveness of our programs, and the research that we position to have a profound impact in education.
“I am so proud of our students, faculty and staff and congratulate them for their collective effort to achieve this international recognition.”
