Receiving Your Funding

Graduate funding can include these three components:

External Scholarships
Payment for employment (e.g. GA, TEPA, RA)
OISE Funding Grant

Each component is disbursed in a different way.

Scholarships: SSHRC, OGS, and NSERC are disbursed by the School of Graduate Studies through the Record of Student Information (ROSI) system in 3 sessional instalments (i.e. payments in May, September, and January or payments in September, January, and May). Information on how the instalments are issued is provided by SGS. Other external scholarships are typically sent to you directly from the granting agency.

Employment payments are disbursed through the Human Resources system. Once you submit your payroll documentation to your employer, payments will be disbursed through direct deposit to your bank account.

Research Fellowship/Graduate Assistantship Packages are disbursed through the Human Resources system. The Research Fellowship will be disbursed in equal payments from September to December once you have completed all required documents. The Graduate Assistantship will be disbursed in 4 equal payments from January to April. Questions about the RF payments should be directed to your department Business Officer.

OISE Funding Grant: Once you have met all the requirements, your Grant will be disbursed through ROSI. The Grant will be directed to your outstanding fees first and any remaining funds will be distributed to you in two equal instalments (September and January).

Note: If you would like your scholarship payments deposited directly to your bank account, enter your banking information on ROSI under Personal Information once you are registered.
