Graduate Funding Package - The Basics
The Basics
Every eligible student will receive a funding package with a minimum value set for the year. The funding level for the year is established by the equation of $15,000 plus tuition and incidental fees (and for international students single UHIP coverage). In 2011/2012, the graduate funding level for domestic students was $23,047 and for international students, $32,928.
Who is eligible
- PHD students in years 1 to 4 of your program (excluding flex-time programs)
- MA students (excluding the M.A. in Child Study and the Masters of Teaching [MT]) in year 1 of your program.
- MA students in the School and Clinical Child Psychology program are eligible for funding in years 1 and 2 of your program. If you subsequently enter the PhD program, you will receive funding for years 1 to 3 only of the PhD.
Who is not eligible
- Students in flex-time PHD programs
- Students who are employed full time
- Students who are admitted under a negotiated agreement with an international agency or a foreign government.
This funding covers the period September to August of each academic year. Note that since funding begins in September, if you choose to start the first year of your program in the summer term (May-August), you are responsible for your summer fees. They are not covered by the funding package.
