Strong OISE Contingent Attending AERA Conference

April 30, 2010

One hundred OISE scholars are participating in this year’s American Educational Research Association (AERA) conference, which takes place from April 30 to May 4, 2010 in Denver, Colorado.

The OISE delegation is larger than that of any other university in Ontario and represents nearly 50% of all attendees from Ontario universities. A total of 12,890 participants are attending from around the world

The conference theme “Understanding Complex Ecologies in a Changing World” will address the conceptual, methodological, and practical challenges and opportunities inherent in understanding how and what people learn across time and space.

OISE and the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia will host a reception on May 1 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Paris Ballroom, Hotel Monaco.

AERA is a prominent international professional organization, with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application. Its more than 25,000 members are: educators; administrators; directors of research; persons working with testing or evaluation in federal, state and local agencies; counsellors; evaluators; graduate students; and behavioural scientists.
