7. Make your Course Available to Students

Make your course available to your students.

By default, your course in Blackboard is not avaiable to students enrolled in your class.  This is evident by the "(unavailable)" designation beside your course when you first enter blackboard.

This is by design, so you have time to build your course and add content, without your students seeing the work in progress.  Once you are ready and want your students to have access your course, you have to flip the virtual "on" switch.  This takes 4 easy clicks:

1. In the Control Panel from within your course, click on "Customization"

2. Click on "Properties"

3. In the Set Availability section where it says "Make Course Available", click the yes option.

4. Click the "Submit" button.

Your course will become 'live' to students right away.  You can choose to turn your course on and off at any time.  Please review the Bb Timelines for suggestions about when to do this.
