When can I start setting up and when is Blackboard no longer available?

BLACKBOARD COURSE LIFECYCLE

This tipsheet will help you plan to build, update, and backup your Blackboard course. Where applicable, tasks suggested here are linked to a relevant tipsheet that will help you complete that task.

TIMELINE	AUTOMATED BLACKBOARD EVENTS	SUGGESTED INSTRUCTOR TASKS
4 months before the first class	Blackboard courses are created. If you don’t see your course on Blackboard, refer to Getting Started Checklist for Instructors	Add Teaching Assistants and other course staff If applicable, copy Course Files and settings from a previous course Add course content Register for Blackboard training sessions
2 months before the first class	Student enrollment is fed from ROSI	If applicable, graft multiple course sections together using UT Course Grafter
One week before the first class		Make course available
During the course		Download Grade Center regularly
Last Day of teaching		Download Grade Center Export and archive your course Backup Course Files or copy them to My Conent
4 months after the end of the course	Students are un-enrolled from the course and do not have access to your course Student information and student grades do not appear in the Grade Center
1 year after the end of the course	Course information is no longer fed from ROSI, and the course is not available to the instructor or other course staff
