Online Environments

Choice and flexibility for teaching and learning...

Often known as an LMS - a Learning Management System, OISE offers choice and flexibility! You can even mix and match! Depending on an instructor's curricular needs, courses may be offered in one or a combination of environments. Instructors use the tools these online environments offer either completely from a distance or as a complement to a face-to-face course, known as partially online or blended learning.

What do we offer?

  • C2C (If you have used WebKF or First Class for your courses and you need peer-to-peer online collaboration, you'll want to check out C2C which can be used in conjunction with Blackboard.)
  • Blackboard

Need more information on how it might fit to your curriculum?

Want to know more or need some help deciding what is best for your curriculum? Check out the Instructor Resources section of this site for this and for some supporting resources. Contact the CCP for individual or group consulting.

Students

Not sure which environment you will be using?

Here is a general rule of thumb right now, however some instructors will integrate more than one system:

WebKF4 (KF4) - No Longer Supported

We regret that we are unable to provide KF4 as a teaching and learning system after September 2009. Please contact the Client Care Portal for questions and support.

What can you use instead?

C2C is a practice and researched informed online environment and is currently being developed by EC's Solutions Development Group (SDG) for use in conjunction with Blackboard.
