Newly admitted students

Information for teacher education program students

We're so excited to be welcoming you to the Master of Teaching or Master of Arts in Child Study and Education program. As you prepare for your journey at OISE, here's some important information you need to know.

Non-refundable program deposit

To secure your space in the Master of Teaching or Master of Arts in Child Study and Education program,  a $300 non-refundable tuition deposit is required as part of accepting the Offer of Admission.

Further information about the deposit is available on the "Responding to your offer of admission" page.

Police record check

As a part of our teacher education programs, you'll spend time practice teaching in schools. In order to participate in these practicum assignments, you'll need a valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening (VSS) for each year in the program.

Teacher candidates who cannot obtain a satisfactory criminal record report will be unable to complete the requirements of their OISE degree.
