Office of Teaching Support at OISE (OTSO)
The Office of Teaching Support at OISE was established in July, 2009 as one of the recommendations of the Teaching Task Force. The Office aims to support a wide-range of teaching practices and recognizes equity as a central dimension of good teaching.

OTSO is mandated to provide the following services to faculty and students:
Services for Faculty
- Helping faculty members with teaching and assessment of student learning in the Initial Teacher Education Program (ITE) and graduate programs
- Facilitating the integration of technology into instruction
- Developing practices for acknowledging excellence in teaching
- Maintaining a website with up to date teaching resources including a library of current journal articles, audio and video clips and other materials pertaining to teaching practice, notification of conferences and talks relating to teaching excellence
- Assisting with course design and development
- Providing guidance for pre-tenure faculty in the development of a teaching dossier
- Assisting with the preparation of teaching award nominations
- Providing individual consultation and classroom visits, when requested, for both faculty and graduate students involved in teaching in the university setting
Services for Students
- Supporting graduate students and teaching assistants in acquiring pedagogical expertise
- Assisting them in accessing opportunities for teaching within the University as part of their doctoral experience
- Developing a graduate course focused on teaching in higher education in consultation with CTL faculty
