Nomination Procedure

Nominations are welcome from the OISE community including faculty, staff and students, as well as education partners. The lead nominator must ensure the support of at least two co-nominators for each nomination.

The Nomination package should include the following:

  1. Completed Nomination Form with a rationale for the nomination highlighting nominee’s contributions to teaching and learning at OISE and addressing how the nominee meets the specific criteria (approximately 1000 words). The rationale should clearly articulate the particular contributions of the candidate and reference specific examples. You may nominate more than one individual per award category. Please use a separate nomination form for each individual nomination.
  2. Evidence of the distinguished contribution to teaching to support the nomination. This might include, for example, copies of teaching evaluations, and/or letters of support from students, staff, or faculty.
  3. Nominee’s current CV
  4. A brief statement on teaching prepared by the nominee (2-3 pages). The statement should speak to the criteria listed above and should highlight specific contributions, reflect the candidate’s teaching interests, strategies, and innovative practices.

Submission Deadline

Completed nominations including all supporting documentation must be submitted electronically to oise.programs@utoronto.ca by February 22, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

All nominations will be reviewed, and the winners selected by the Teaching Awards Selection Committee (TBA), which will be chaired by Jeanne Watson, Associate Dean, Programs. Note: a new committee will be established each year to ensure broad representation! Winners will be honoured at the awards ceremony in April 2013.
