OISE recognizes the importance of building relationships that sustain and enrich our research environment to improve education in a variety of settings, across the lifespan.
We share and expand our education expertise by partnering locally and worldwide on research initiativies, student and faculty exchanges, curriculum development and education consulting.
A Collaborative Framework for Innovative Education
To address the most crucial issues of our time and improve the human adventure of learning, OISE believes in an open concept of knowledge development. Our education research is advanced through a model of sharing, where expertise is valued by how effectively it leads to real-world improvements in the learning of individuals, organizations and communities.
• Partnerships within OISE: We foster an internal culture of collaboration by bringing together a wide range of disciplinary expertise to investigate complex real-life education issues. In particular, our research centres and institutes provide opportunities for OISE scholars to work together while also reaching out to external experts and stakeholders.
• Funding Partners: Our achievements in education research rely on the support Federal Granting Councils, governments, international organizations, school boards, and a variety of institutions, including other universities. By supporting OISE, they fill an indispensable role in allowing our community of scholars to improve learning outcomes for all.

• Community Partners: Our faculty and students engage with partners across the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, and beyond. In addition to creating new educational programs and internship opportunities for our students, these community engagements strengthen our knowledge mobilization and research relevance.
• International Partners: OISE is actively engaged around the world in student and faculty exchanges, research, education consulting, and academic-industry collaboration. We are committed to international education partnerships that enhance cultural understanding, create global citizens, and improve the health of communities.
• Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars: Postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars are essential and valued members of our research community allowing for the exchange of new knowledge, expertise, skills and perspectives.
