Atkinson Centre for Society and Child Development

 The Atkinson Centre promotes research on child development, and the development of early learning policy and practice that serve young children and their families.  Central to the work of the Atkinson Centre is the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion in its research agenda.

Centre de recherches en éducation franco-ontarienne

 Le Centre de recherches en éducation franco-ontarienne (CREFO) est un centre de recherche interdisciplinaire où on étudie les pratiques éducatives, sociales et langagières de la francophonie en Ontario, au Canada et dans le monde, en mettant l'accent sur les processus de construction des différences et des inégalités sociales ainsi que sur les mécanismes sociaux d'inclusion et d'exclusion.

Centre for Aboriginal Initiatives (Arts & Science - OISE)

 

Centre for Arts-Informed Research

 The Centre for Arts-Informed Research has a mission to articulate, explore, and support alternative forms of qualitative research and representation, which infuse elements, processes, and forms of the arts into scholarly work.

Centre for Diversity in Counselling & Psychotherapy

 The Centre for Diversity in Counselling and Psychotherapy is an interdisciplinary centre dedicated to research and development of multicultural and diversity issues in counselling and psychotherapy, focusing particularly on the stigmatized social identities of gender, race, sexual orientations, class, disabilities, religion, and age.

Centre for Integrative Anti-Racism Studies

 The Centre for Integrative Anti-racism Studies' (CIARS) mandate is to enhance research and teaching in the areas of equity, anti-racism praxis and alternative knowledge(s) in education.  CIARS' mandate also includes the generation of collaborative relationships with community and other institutional organizations. 

Centre for Leadership and Diversity

 The Centre for Leadership and Diversity is devoted to engendering, promoting and sustaining an interest in, and commitment to, leadership and diversity.  Centre initiatives are intended to encourage and nurture activities that advance the cause of equity, social justice and democracy in matters of leadership and policy.

Centre for Media and Culture in Education

 The Centre for Media and Culture in Education (CMCE) seeks to foster critical inquiry and debate regarding cultural practices integral to everyday life in contemporary communities.

Centre for Studies in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education 

 The Centre for Studies in science, Mathematics, and Technology Education's mission is to undertake research, development, and teaching that promote critical understanding, inclusion, diversity, equity, personal wellbeing, creativity, and social and environmental justice. 

Centre for the Study of Students in Postsecondary Education

 The Centre for the Study of Students in Postsecondary Education has a mission to design, implement, and disseminate quality, relevant scholarship and programs that advance a broader understanding of student learning, development and success at the University of Toronto and in Canadian postsecondary education.

Centre for the Study of Education and Work

 The Centre for the Study of Education and Work brings together academics, labour educators and community partners to understand and enrich the often undervalued informal and formal learning of working people. The centre develops research and teaching programs on learning and work. It promotes policy initiatives and public events connected to both paid and unpaid workplaces, in traditional and new media for learning.

Centre for Urban Schooling

 The Centre for Urban Schooling is dedicated to improving the quality of the teaching and learning experiences available to children and youth living in underserved urban communities. The centre carries out academic and contracted research, offers educational programs and professional development opportunities, and supports students, teachers, schools, parents and district boards in the development of school reform initiatives that have a clear focus on equity for all students.

Centre for Women's Studies in Education

 The Centre for Women's Studies in Education is committed to promoting and supporting the disciplinary and interdisciplinary feminist research programs at OISE/UT; developing and implementing programming that enriches the scholarly and professional development of staff, students, and educators; and connecting scholarship, education and activism through constructive and critical dialogues with feminist communities locally, nationally and globally.

Comparative, International & Development Education Centre

 The Comparative, International & Development Education Centre's mandate is to promote excellence, collaboration, and innovation in comparative and international educational research at OISE.

Institute for Human Development
 

Institute for Knowledge Innovation and Technology

 The Institute for Knowledge Innovation and Technology conducts research, develops technology, and helps build communities aimed at advancing beyond "best practice" in education, knowledge work, and knowledge creation. 

International Centre for Educational Change

 The International Centre for Educational Change is a group of scholars and field developers within the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, who work together to investigate, initiate, support and speak out with integrity and authority on changes and reforms in education, locally, nationally and across the world.

Dr. R.G.N. Laidlaw Centre

 The Dr. R.G.N. Laidlaw Centre is dedicated to the support of applied multidisciplinary research in child development. It is an integral part of the Institute of Child Study’s mission of integrating research, graduate/teacher training, and exemplary elementary education in the ICS Laboratory School. Current research is aimed at understanding children and innovative programs to support their education and development.

Centre for Educational Research on Languages and Literacies

 The Centre for Educational Research on Languages and Literacies' work focuses on curriculum, instruction, and policies for education in second, foreign, and minority languages, particularly in reference to English and French in Canada but also other languages and settings -- including studies of language learning, methodology and organization of classroom instruction, language education policies, student and program evaluation, teacher development, as well as issues related to bilingualism, multilingualism, cultural diversity, and literacy.

Social Economy Centre

 The Social Economy Centre (SEC) promotes and disseminates multidisciplinary research and policy analysis on issues affecting the social economy. A central feature of the Social Economy Centre is to create a bridge between the university and other community organizations, particularly nonprofits and co-operatives.

Transformative Learning Centre

 The Transformative Learning Centre's main goals are to provide an interdepartmental structure for community-university partnerships in research and field development; to provide a forum for the discussion of interdisciplinary issues related to learning in community and global transformation; to provide a means for faculty and students to participate in specific networks requiring membership from a community-university base rather than formal academic structures; and, to support interdepartmental instruction in Transformative Learning Studies and related areas.
