The UCEA Center for the Study of School Site Leadership is intended to serve as a locus for the dissemination of information about the latest educational research concerning school site leadership. The Center's primary goal is to help educators better understand the implications for school site leadership on contexts characterized by economics, racial, ethnic and cultural diversity.
The Center also intends to foster collaborative forms of research through partnerships between the Center and the field, as well as provide regular syntheses about the state of the art of leadership preparation and practice which can be used to provide advice for policymakers.
To achieve these goals, the Center collects data about the effectiveness of various leadership techniques gathered from researchers and practitioners in the field. It runs practical workshops on leadership development and sponsors an annual summer conference on school site leadership. The Center also hosts the journal, Leadership and Policy in Schools, which serves as a primary source of dissemination.
The UCEA Center for the Study of School Site Leadership is co-hosted by University at Buffalo/State University of New York and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto.
For more information about Center Activities, please contact either of the Center's co-directors: Stephen Jacobson or Kenneth Leithwood.
