Application Steps

Step 3: Prepare Your Application → Deadlines & Closing Dates

Application Deadline

This is the date by which you must complete the online application process. Specifically, enter all required information via the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies online application system and pay the non-refundable application fee plus non-refundable supplementary fee ($210 total).

To be assured that your application will be considered for a place in a program, as well as for financial support, the 2012-13 application deadline is Thursday December 1, 2011.

After December 1 an application may not be considered because a program of study may be closed for admission. Applications received after December 1 may not be considered for financial support.

If a program of study remains open for admission after December 1, note the following secondary application deadlines:
March 2, 2012  (for 2012 Summer Session, First Term – May)
May 4, 2012  (for 2012 Summer Session, Second Term – July)
June 29, 2012  (for 2012 Fall Session – September)
October 5, 2012  (for 2013 Winter Session – January)

Document Deadline

This is the date by which all supporting documentation (including résumé, statement of intent, letters of reference, and official transcripts) must be received by the Registrar’s Office, Graduate Admissions Unit.

To be assured that your application will be considered for a place in a program, as well as for financial support, the 2012-13 document deadline is Thursday December 1, 2011.

If a program of study remains open for admission after December 1, generally the document deadline is seven business days after the online application process is completed (including payment). If supporting documentation is not received within seven business days, your application may not be considered or may be considered with documents missing.

Closing Dates

After December 1 programs of study may close at their discretion, no longer considering new applications for admission.

All OISE programs are listed in the following chart (alphabetical order). Program information may also be further itemized by degree.

Some programs of study are no longer considering applications for 2012-13 (all sessions) as of the closing date specified (note a closing date may be in the future). The closing date is the final day (as of 5:00 pm) to enter all required information via the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies online application system, and pay the non-refundable application fee plus non-refundable supplementary fee.

Some programs of study may have not yet set a closing date (“Pending”), and therefore new applications are currently permitted (in other words “Pending” means a program of study is presently open for new applications but at the program’s discretion a closing date can be set at anytime).
