Notification of Results

For each of your program of study selections you will be sent official, written notification of results, generally in the form of an Offer of Admission or a Notification of Waitlist Status or a Notification of Refusal. Each and every program of study selection will generate a single result letter. Students cannot undertake more than one program in the same session, so if you receive more than one offer of admission you must tell us which program you wish to pursue. We try to ensure all result letters are included in one package, but sometimes preparing and sending letters separately and at different times cannot be avoided.

When applicable, information regarding the OISE Graduate Funding Package is enclosed with an offer of admission.

Decisions that you receive directly from an academic department should not be considered official.

Applicants who submit complete applications by the November 15 main deadline should receive notification of results in March. Offers of admission are normally mailed starting March 1. Applicants who submit complete applications after November 15 should receive notification of results within three to six weeks of application submission, but no sooner than March 1.

The official results pertaining to an application for admission are final. Per University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies policy, decisions related to admission to an academic program, including admission to a doctoral program for current master’s students, are not subject to appeal. Significant care is taken in the evaluation of an application both in the Office of the Registrar and Student Services, and at the departmental level. Staff and faculty work diligently to ensure admission criteria are applied consistently and fairly. Applicants who are refused and who wish to be re-considered for admission must re-apply in competition with all other applicants for admission to a future academic year.

Applicants who sincerely believe an error has occurred in the processing and/or evaluation of their application are encouraged to contact the Office of the Registrar and Student Services, Admissions Unit, with specific details.
