Important M.A. Degree Fee Information

University of Toronto tuition fees policy stipulates that all M.A. degree students pay a minimum fee for their degree – referred to as the Degree Fee. This minimum fee is based on your year of admission and the number of courses required in your program and is calculated as follows:

If you were admitted to either a 6 half-course or 8 half-course (1 year) program, the minimum Degree Fee is calculated at 1 times the Fall/Winter, full-time academic fee for the academic year in which you began your M.A. degree program.

If you were admitted to a 10 half-course (1.5 year) program, the minimum Degree Fee is calculated at 1.5 times the Fall/Winter, full-time academic fee for the academic year in which you began your M.A. degree program.

If you were admitted to a 12-16 half-course (2 year) program, the minimum Degree Fee is calculated at 2 times the Fall/Winter, full-time academic fee for the academic year in which you began your M.A. degree program.

If, at the end of your program, the total amount of academic fees which you paid during the time that you were registered is less than the minimum Degree Fee, you will be required to pay the outstanding balance. This is known as the Balance Degree Fee (BDF).

Note: The Fee Schedules below do not apply to students in the M.A. Child Study and Education program.

Below is the minimum Degree Fee which you are required to pay by the end of your M.A. degree program. Note that there is no maximum Degree Fee. International student fees differ. Please contact your Liaison Officer in the OISE Registrar’s Office for information about international Degree Fees.

Minimum Degree Fees

If you were admitted in 2011-12 to a:	then your minimum Degree Fee will be:
6 to 8 half-course program	$6,885.00 (1 x $6,885.00)
10 half-course program	$10,327.50 (1.5 x $6,885.00)
12-16 half-course program	$13,770.00 (2 x $6,885.00)

If you were admitted in 2010-11 to a:	then your minimum Degree Fee will be:
6 to 8 half-course program	$6,621.00 (1 x $6,621.00)
10 half-course program	$9,931.50 (1.5 x $6,621.00)
12-16 half-course program	$13,242.00 (2 x $6,621.00)

If you were admitted in 2009-10 to a:	then your minimum Degree Fee will be:
6 to 8 half-course program	$6,366.00 (1 x $6,366.00)
10 half-course program	$9,549.00 (1.5 x $6,366.00)
12-16 half-course program	$12,732.00 (2 x $6,366.00)

If you were admitted in 2008-09 to a:	then your minimum Degree Fee will be:
6 to 8 half-course program	$6,121.00 (1 x $6,121.00)
10 half-course program	$9,181.50 (1.5 x $6,121.00)
12-16 half-course program	$12,242.00 (2 x $6,121.00)

If you were admitted in 2007-08 to a:	then your minimum Degree Fee will be:
6 to 8 half-course program	$5,886.00 (1 x $5,886.00)
10 half-course program	$8,829.00 (1.5 x $5,886.00)
12-16 half-course program	$11,772.00 (2 x $5,886.00)

If you were admitted in 2006-07 to a:	then your minimum Degree Fee will be:
6 to 8 half-course program	$5,660.00 (1 x $5,660.00)
10 half-course program	$8,490.00 (1.5 x $5,660.00)
12-16 half-course program	$11,320.00 (2 x $5,660.00)
