Accessibility Services
Accessibility Services provides services and programs for students with a documented disability, be it physical, sensory, a learning disability or a mental health disorder. Students with a temporary disability (i.e. broken arm or leg) also qualify. Services include alternative test and exam arrangements, note-taking services, on-campus transportation, adaptive equipment and assistive devices and skills development.

OISE makes every effort to assist those candidates with a documented disability in securing accommodations to remove barriers that might impede their ability to successfully complete program requirements in a timely manner. Because of the intensity of the program including the attendant practicum and internship components, we would, as a first step, encourage candidates with disabilities to register with the University's Accessibilities Services Office as early as possible. Accessibility Services is open throughout the summer and further information about their programs is available on their website at: http://studentlife.utoronto.ca/accessibility.

In previous years teacher candidates with disabilities have indicated to us that registering with Accessibility Services has been of great benefit to them as they pursued their studies here and those who register later in the year often regret not having benefit of supports from the beginning of their program.
