CCL paper
The Canadian Council on Learning (see links page) is a major sponsor and promoter of activities relating research to practice in education in Canada. Ben Levin prepared and presented a background paper for an invitational symposium (held May 15-18, 2008) sponsored by the Canadian Council on Learning and the Social Sciences and Humanities research Council of Canada entitled "Thinking About Knowledge Mobilization" on the state of knowledge around how we can better connect research to policy and practice.
This paper :
-
Provides some context for the growing interest in knowledge mobilization;
-
Outlines briefly current thinking on knowledge mobilization, along with a view on the strength of the empirical and conceptual work underlying that thinking'
-
Identifies key areas where current knowledge is inadequate;
-
Identifies promising areas for further work, both in research and in KM activity
