CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORKS
This page includes some of the most interesting conceptual frameworks we have found in the literature. These frameworks are from various disciplines, most of which explore the relationships between research, policy and practice.
It is evident from looking at both terminology and frameworks that there is much overlap in meaning but also some important differences. For example, some approaches seem to emphasize a one-way ‘transmission’ model, while others attempt to capture a more interactive understanding.
For a more comprehensive discussion of these issues, see some of the sources listed in our annotated bibliography.
