Shasta Carr-HarrisPh.D. Student, Educational AdministrationBefore entering education, Shasta completed an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa (2002), a Certificate in International Affairs from New York University (2003), professional training at the Broadcast Journalism Summer Institute at Seneca College (2005), and spent 2 years in Pakistan where she worked for print and television news organizations. Shasta completed a Bachelor of Education degree at OISE/UT in 2009 and went on to teach in the United Kingdom in 2010 before returning to Canada to earn a Master of Education degree at OISE/UT (2012), with a focus on social networks in education. In 2011, Shasta joined the Knowledge Mobilization team under the supervision of Dr. Ben Levin, and has since been involved with knowledge mobilization projects such as the Use of Online Research project, the Ontario Education Research Exchange (OERE) and Research Brokering in Education (RBE) projects, of which she is currently Project Manager. In February 2013, Shasta became the Program Manager for the Knowledge Network for Applied Education Research (KNAER), an Ontario Ministry of Education initiative that has supported 44 knowledge mobilization projects across the province.
