The Department of Social Justice Education (SJE), OISE, University of Toronto is pleased to share news that we are advertising for a tenure stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Black Studies in Education. Closing date for applications is November 1, 2017. 

Congratulations to Professor George Dei elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. This is recognition of "distinguished scholars and artists selected on the basis of their exceptional contributions", following an extensive nomination and selection process across Canada. 

Congratulations to Terri-Lynn Langdon, Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Social Justice Education, for receiving the Dr. E. Bruce Hendrick Scholarship.

Congratulations to Professor Njoki Wane, 2017 recipient of the President's Teaching Award, U of T's highest teaching honour. Well deserved for her outstanding contributions and sustained excellence and innovation in teaching, educational leadership, research on pedagogy, and the integration of teaching and research. 

Congratulations to Tanya Titchkosky, SJE Professor, a recipient of the 2016 Reviewer Award for Outstanding Journal Reviews awarded by the Liverpool University Press for her role of reviewer during the peer-review process for Journal of Literary & Cultural Disability Studies.
