Canadian Center for Gender & Sexual Diversity's 3rd annual Ontario Educator's Conference April 28, 2017

The Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity is proud to present our third annual Ontario Educators’ Conference in collaboration with the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto.

Join 300 educators, administrators, and youth service workers from across the province on April 28th, 2017 at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), (252 Bloor St W, Toronto, ON).

Conference participants will be given hands-on tools from educational professionals, lawyers, LGBTQ advocates, and academics to understand and recognize the issues faced by LGBTQ communities.  The training will include a focus on supporting LGBTQ youth and educators; working with trans & gender-variant youth; and sharing best practices. Please note there will also be workshops in both French & English, from urban, rural & remote perspectives; and from Public & Catholic perspectives.

Conference Highlights:

  • Workshops, seminars and presentations, which specifically target Educators, Administrators and Staff to give them the practical tools to ensure a safer climate.
  • Two keynotes.
  • A community fair to connect participants to key resources.

    Designed to help all graduate students become fully prepared for their future. The program can help you to communicate better, plan and manage your time, learn entrepreneurial skills, understand and apply ethical practices, and work effectively in teams and as leaders. Its successful completion will be recognized by a transcript notation.

    Do you have questions about what to do with your degree, career exploration, and preparing for the world of work.  Students can access a personalized dashboard on the CLN where they are able to view and access career-related resources. Regular workshops on resume-building, interview skills, LinkedIn Labs are offered.

  • MyGradSkills.ca (Ontario Consortium for Graduate Professional Skills)
    MyGradSkills.ca is a resource for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to enhance the professional skills so that they can succeed during their studies and research, and in a range of career paths. MyGradSkills.ca includes a number of self-paced, online modules on a range of topics, including teaching & learning, to career development, to community engagement, to entrepreneurship, and much more -- all as online modules.
