Financial Aid & Awards
The University of Toronto is unique among Canadian universities in providing assurance of financial support, and in promising that students will have access to financial counselling. Please note, however, that the University's financial assistance guarantee is not extended to those students who are restricted from OSAP.
- If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact our office. The 2011/2012 online OSAP application is now available (for studies beginning in September).
- Apply NOW to be eligible for fee deferral; and Submit your OSAP Signatures and Consent forms and all required documents by mid-June to Admissions and Awards to ensure funds will be ready when classes begin in September.
OSAP / Government Student Aid Online Tuition Fee Deferral
If you have applied for government student assistance, the University will allow you to defer paying your tuition fees until that assistance arrives.
Your can log in to the Student Web Service SWS and select Financial Accounts:

In the 'Financial Accounts' area, you can select 'OSAP/Govt Deferral'
OSAP ID Requirements.
When picking up OSAP funding documents at the Student Services office on OISE's 8th floor, you must provide the following 3 documents:
- Your Social Insurance Number card or an official Government of Canada Document that indicates your Social Insurance Number (examples: Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment, Canada Pension Plan Statement of Contributions, or a Confirmation of Social Insurance Number from Service Canada).
- One piece of valid photo ID issued in Canada by the federal or provincial government (examples: valid driver's licence, passport, provincial health card with photo, permanent resident or citizenship card with photo).
- University of Toronto student ID Tcard to confirm your registration.
