Each Secondary Program(SP) and Elementary Option cohort will have a one-hour Internship Information session between Monday, November 30 and Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Your program coordinator will let you know the date, time and location of the session scheduled for your cohort. In preparation for your cohort's session, please read the second half of the SUPO Information Booklet on OISE's Internship program, and bring this booklet to the presentation. The SUPO Booklet is also available on the right of this homepage, under "Internship Documents."

Access to the Internship database for Teacher Candidates and OISE instructors is through the link at the top right of this homepage: "Login For Students and Instructors".

INTERNSHIP = OPPORTUNITY:

The culminating experience of OISE's Bachelor of Education/Diploma in Technological Education Program is the Internship. The Internship provides Teacher Candidates with an opportunity to complete the teacher education program with an experience that is purposely self-selected and self-directed. The purpose of the Internship is to integrate, extend and deepen the learning experiences of each Teacher Candidate as s/he makes the transition from a teacher candidate to a qualified Ontario teacher. The Internship is a required component, it is non-evaluative, and it is a full-time experience for 5 weeks.

Building on their individual interests and needs, Teacher Candidates choose from either a wide variety of Internship opportunities posted on this web site (school sites, non-school sites or international sites), or they can independently pursue an Internship opportunity of their own choice. All Internships need to explicitly connect to the Standards of Practice for the Teaching Profession. For more information on the Internship, please view the Internship Flyer.
