ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TEACHER CANDIDATES
► Peel District School Board Internships: All Internships in the Peel District School Board need to be formally requested by SUPO to the Central Peel Board office. (This does not apply to the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board)
IMPORTANT: Requesting an Internship in Peel is a commitment by the TC to complete the Internship at the Peel school that is arranged for you by the Central Peel Board office. Location and grade levels, etc. cannot be guaranteed.
If a TC is interested in an Internship in a Peel school, please email the following to Anne Leverman by Friday, December 7, 2012:
-
TC name
-
Name of area/region in Peel where you would like to do your Internship (NOTE: an Internship in this area cannot be guranteed)
-
Grade, level and/or subject you are interested in
SUPO will email each TC to confirm the Peel-based Internship as soon as we receive confirmation from the Central Office in Peel (mid to late January).
► Peel DSB - Police Record Checks: Peel requires an original copy of a TC's Police Record Check. A Police Record Check that was submitted to the Board in the fall, 2012 is valid for the entire academic year. Peel also requires that a Police Record Check be received within 6 months of when the check was issued. Any TC doing their Internship in Peel who has not submitted a Police Record Check will need to submit it within 6 months of when the record check was issued. Peel prefers that the documentation is delivered in person, but will accept via mail as well. Important details can be found on the Peel DSB Police Record Check Information.
► Teacher Candidates are invited to read the information about the Internship on this website. The "General Internship Information" including all of the sub-categories in this section of the website, provides the overview of the Internship planning and approval process.
► All Teacher Candidates will receive a one-hour Internship Information Session scheduled in their TES course before the December holidays.
► Questions about the Internship should be raised with TES instructors, who will direct the question to the Academic Internship Coordinator if necessary.
