===============================================
How should the final appraisal (Pass or Fail) of a Teacher Candidate’s performance during practice teaching be determined?

The final appraisal of a Teacher Candidate should be based on the criteria listed on the Mid-Point Formative Assessment. Contact SUPO at 416-978-2202 or your elementary option coordinator or secondary program coordinator for additional information if necessary.

How many Summative Evaluations should be completed if a Teacher Candidate is placed with more than one Associate Teacher during a practice teaching session?

When a Teacher Candidate is placed with more than one Associate Teacher during a Practicum, the Associate Teachers should combine their evaluation of the Teacher Candidate into a single Summative Evaluation, which is then signed by all involved Associate Teachers.

What if a Teacher Candidate does not complete the Practicum?

Normally, if a Teacher Candidate spends a minimum of five days in their Practicum, s/he must receive a Summative Evaluation.

What if a Teacher Candidate is identified as at-risk of failing the Practicum in the Mid-Point Formative Assessment?
