Stephanie Springgay is an artist, curator, scholar and the principal investigator on The Pedagogical Impulse research-creation project . She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on embodiment and the senses in contemporary and educational spaces, bringing together curriculum theory, aesthetics, and theories of research-creation.

After teaching in England, Julie Smitka returned as a native to Canada where she has taught as a visual arts teacher in both regional arts and non-regional arts public high schools in Ontario. After completing her M.Ed. at OISE/UT in June 2010, Julie is currently a first year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning at OISE/UT. Her focus of research encompasses her passions for Arts-Based Educational Research, A/r/tography, Embodiment Studies, the Arts in Schools and Cultural Studies.

Arden Hagedorn is currently finishing her MEd in Adult Education and Community Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education and completed her undergraduate in Anthropology and Sociology at the University of Guelph. Seeking solace after a two-year stint in student union politics, she took a felt-making course at the Haliburton School of the Arts. She has been avid ‘maker’ ever since, incorporating her felt pieces into her graduate work and popping up in several craft shows in Toronto under the name Ardently Yours. She is currently working as a research assistant on The Pedagogical Impulse.
