About Robin Connolly
![]() |
Robin Connolly is an OISE student (MT, P/J), a yoga teacher, and a creative facilitator. Her teaching philosophy stems from a deep love of embodied learning; she is passionate about connecting to others by inviting a sense of wonder into her classroom. Robin wants her classes to feel like an experience of the ordinary as extraordinary; and this happens through focused breath exercises, sequences of mindful movement, and guided relaxation. |
Prior to starting at OISE, Robin completed a B.A. in African Studies and Environmental Policy, travelled in India, and spent 4 years teaching yoga and mindfulness to adults, youth and children while working in the non-profit sector. Robin has found her own practices of yoga and mindfulness to be valuable gifts for the best and most challenging of times. In her classes, Robin makes space for curiosity, creativity and community while maintaining an awareness of the impact of trauma in many lived experiences. It’s from this experience that she invites anyone curious about mindfulness to drop-in to a class and become part of a community of practice at OISE. There is no perfect version of who or what a contemplative practitioner is. As a settler-descendent (Ireland, Scotland, England) born in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, Robin would like to acknowledge the traditional territory of the Algonquin, Anishinabek, Huron-Wendat, Anishnaabe, and Nipissing-Algonquin Nations. Robin strives to carry her responsibilities as a treaty person and as an ally through the development of right relationships with Indigenous peoples; youth and elder, from across Turtle Island. |
