What does it take to lead in the public sector?

Even experienced public-sector leaders face political pressures, organizational challenges, ethical dilemmas and intense public scrutiny. What causes leaders to stumble? And, what can help them lead more effectively?

On October 15, join OISE for the next Writers’ Roost, featuring Dr. Trudy Sopp, OISE alumna and author of the new book The Public Sector Leader’s Playbook: Avoiding Missteps in an Unforgiving Arena.

Drawing on more than four decades of experience advising public-sector leaders, Dr. Sopp will join fellow OISE alum, Dr. Jeff Myers, to explore the pressures and blind spots that can lead to missteps — and what they reveal about leading effectively in complex public organizations.

A reception will follow, with light refreshments and an opportunity to purchase a copy of the book and have it signed by Dr. Sopp.
