What We Do

The Atkinson Centre continues to lead the research and development related to Kids, Families & Places Study, Toronto First Duty, Peel Family Literacy Project, Early Childhood Education Report, Professional Pay and Decent Work for All, and The Schools at the Centre Study, and work towards the consolidation of a strong community-university network. The Atkinson Centre currently supports research capacity in community organizations through the Access to ECE research project.

At the Atkinson Centre, we remain committed to pursuing learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to strengthen their capacity to bridge research with policy and practice through quality learning experiences.

At the same time, we will shift our attention to building early childhood within the Human Development and Applied Psychology Department at OISE and establishing a collaborative graduate program in Early Childhood Development and Families. Central to the work of the Atkinson Centre will be a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in early childhood programs.

The Atkinson Centre is also involved in Events on topics connected to its work and provides access to resources related to that work.
