Submission Deadline: February 11, 2019
Are you a researcher, practitioner, or policymaker who would like to present a workshop at the Summer Institute? Our Call for Proposals is now open! Proposals must relate to effective approaches to professional development for the early childhood workforce.
Context: Professional development is the tool by which policymakers and administrators convey broad visions, disseminate critical information, and provide guidance to educators. Effective professional development begins with an understanding of educators’ needs and their work environment. It then combines a range of techniques to promote learning; provides educators with the support they need; engages leadership; and makes use of evaluation to increase its impact. Effective PD programs engage educators as learners. Essential techniques include mentoring, teamwork, observation, reflection and assessment.
Please note that there are a limited number of workshops available this year.
Please respond to Stacey.Mudie@utoronto.ca with your name and pertinent information, workshop title and summary description of no more than 200 words. Successful applicants will be contacted by February 28, 2019.
