Future Students

Overview

Comparative, International, and Development Education (CIDE) is home to over 260 vibrant and diverse students across three departments and six programs.  This year CIDEC had over 140 applications. 62 new students will be joining the CIDE community for the 2020-2021 academic year.

The CIDE Collaborative Specialization is an addition to a student’s degree program. Adding the CIDE Collaborative Specialization will provide students with a structured program of study in comparative international and development education. It will also provide students with an array of CIDE-affiliated courses, participation in exciting seminars and events via CIDEC Seminars and Events Calendar, and affiliate CIDE Faculty supervision.

Future students who are interested in CIDE should indicate their interest at the time of admission in their application to OISE. In the application, the letter of intent and  resume  should include the following:

  • Evidence of significant professional or academic experience in an international or cross-cultural setting (minimum of one year)
  • Reference to the way in which insights from that experience contribute to the applicant’s present interest and future studies in CIDE
  • A clear indication in the Statement of Intent of interest in and commitment to the study of any or all of comparative, international, or development education.

Current students from the participating degree programs who have already started their studies at OISE can also join CIDE through the mid-degree transfer in process.

Please note that students will only be considered for CIDE after they have been admitted to their home degrees by the respective department.

All interested students should also note that CIDE can be added to any of the participating degree programs listed below.
