Comparative, International, and Development Education (CIDE) is home to over 260 vibrant and diverse students across three departments and six programs.
Participating departments in CIDE include Leadership Higher and Adult Education (LHAE), Curriculum Teaching and Learning (CTL), and Social Justice Education (SJE).
Our students come from various programs of study including Adult Education and Community Development (AECD), Higher Education (HE), Education Leadership and Policy (ELP), Curriculum and Pedagogy (C&P), Language Literacies Education (LLE), and Social Justice Education (SJE).
This year CIDEC had over 140 applications. 62 new students will be joining the CIDE community for the 2020-2021 academic year.
OISE students who wish to add the CIDE specialization to their degree must meet the CIDE qualifications. Admission to the CIDE collaborative specialization will be based on the following three criterias in the candidate’s application to OISE:
Applications to add the CIDE specialization are reviewed on a rolling basis by a CIDE Faculty Committee and home department chair. It is best to submit a complete application by the beginning of the school year term. Please note that due to increased enrolment in CIDE, there may be restrictions on the number of add collaboratives accepted.
A complete “add-collaborative” CIDE Application must include the following:
1. A statement of intent to the Specialization Director(s) of CIDE noting why you wish to enrol in the CIDE specialization. This will be much like the statement of intent you wrote for admission to OISE. In this statement, you will need to indicate the CIDE faculty member who will oversee your program completion.
2. A current C.V. that lists your international work experience.
3. Fill out the internal add collaborative form below:
4. Return the form to the CIDEC office (7107) or email to cidec.oise@utoronto.ca
