Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development Program

Information and resources for current students

The Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development Program (CSTD) is a forum for systematic reflection on curriculum, viewed in the broadest sense as educational experiences that occur in both formal and informal settings.

This includes a critical examination of the substance (subject matter, courses, programs of study), purposes, and practices used for bringing about learning in educational settings.

Program emphasis

CSTD also offers an optional program emphasis on Critical Studies in Curriculum Pedagogy (CSCP) which focuses on that area of research within the program. Learn more about the CSCP emphasis

Research clusters

The CSTD program has three broad areas of focus that reflect the overlapping and intersecting strengths of our program's faculty: Learning, Schools and Innovations; and Teaching and Teacher Education. These areas suggest possible areas of course selection and research for students.
