Teacher Classroom Experiences

Carly Cohen, Kavita Upadhya, and Naomi Savage are teachers that collaborated with Dr. Gallagher's team on the Urban School Performance Project. In these interviews they speak about their experience working on the research project in their classrooms and how the research has affected their teaching.

Carly Cohen speaks about the impact of the learning space on the relationships between the teacher, student and learning material.


She also speaks about her lesson design process as a teacher and the inclusion of multiple teaching styles.





Kavita Upadhya speaks about the importance of communication and trust in the teacher-student relationship and how the creative process has opened up the possibilities for deeper, critical engagement across academic subjects.







Naomi Savage speaks about the process of encouraging creative thinking and engagement in the classroom.


She also describes the importance of the student experiencing ownership and pride over their own creativity.
