Academic Series: Designing Content for a Mobile World.

Content creation plays an important role in modern communication. This workshop aims to simplify the process of creating effective and engaging multimedia content so that you can capture, craft and share your vision easily using Apple technology. Apple's creative tools are affordable and accessible to everyone regardless of their background. They are simple but powerful tools and we will show you how to use them efficiently and purposefully. From iOS devices to the Mac, from iLife to Final Cut Studio you'll see why Apple has the best tools to help you communicate your vision in the most effective way possible.

Creating e-pubs (Level 1) -

ePub is an open ebook standard produced by the International Digital Publishing Forum. Pages ’09 lets you export your documents in ePub format for reading with iBooks on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. iBooks supports both ePub and PDF file formats, and you can export both from Pages.

Creating e-pubs (Level 2) -

Creating an ePub Document to Read in iBooks. You can export any Pages word processing document to the ePub file format for reading in an ePub reader, such as the iBooks application on the iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.

Intro to Mac OSX Level 1

This Level 1 workshop will introduce participants to the Mac platform and explore how to apply this learning to extend traditional instructional boundaries. Participants will be shown how to effectively use the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system to collaborate, create, and communicate more efficiently with students and colleagues.  A laptop will be made available for participant use at the workshop.

Intro to Mac OSX Level 2

This Level 2 workshop will expand on the Level 1 workshop, to introduce participants to more of the Mac platform and explore how to apply this learning to extend traditional instructional boundaries. Participants will continue examining how to effectively use the Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system to collaborate, create, and communicate more efficiently with students and colleagues.  A laptop will be made available for participant use at the workshop.

Creating Online Instructional Video (Level 1)

As part of the EC-OISE Apple Initiative, you are invited to attend two workshops that are being offered to introduce faculty to creating online instructional videos for their courses and other professional uses.  A Mac laptop will be made available for participant use at the workshop.

Creating Online Instructional Video (Level 2)

These workshops will introduce participants to simple ways to capture and edit online  instructional videos by using a Mac computer and the Snow Leopard Operating System.  A Mac laptop will be made available for participant use at the workshop.
