UTORid Username & Password


Your UTORid account (username and password) is the key to many services here at OISE and at UofT.


What is a UTORid?

UTORid Your UTORid is associated with your

  • TCard (University of Toronto identification card)
  • @utoronto.ca e-mail address.

Your UTORid (username and password) is your key to a number of services:

Your e-mail account is associated with your UTORid. 
Once you setup your UTORid username and password, your UTORmail account will be created.

Who do we support?

All UofT faculty, staff & students receive a UTORid.

How do I request a UTORid?

How to obtain a UTORid depends on who you are, but most people will get their UTORid information with their TCard from the TCard office at Robarts Library.  Click on your category for more detailed information:

Who am I? Category / details Basic steps
Faculty / Instructors I Have a U of T personnel number
(Appointed, ongoing employee)

UTORid information is contained in your “Getting on-line at UofT” letter from your department.

  I Do not have a U of T personnel number
(Visiting, Seconded or Additional Qualification)
Use your TCard to activate your UTORid. Instructors who are not paid directly by the university will need to get a TCard authorization letter from their department.
Students New Students On-Campus

Get your TCard from the Robarts Library.

  New Students Off-Campus You should receive your UTORid information as part your program registration.

Returning Students

OISE Students who have previously attended UofT but do not have a UTORid should visit the TCard office

Con Ed & AQ students should visit the AQ website for details about getting your UTORid.

Appointed & Casual

UTORid information is contained in your “Getting on-line at UofT” letter from your department.
None of the above Contractors, guests, individuals not eligible for a UTORid account A university staff or faculty member will need to sponsor a UTORid account on your behalf. Further information is available here.

UTORid account settings and changes

The UTORid website is your source for administrative changes to your account:


First Time Users
  • activate your UTORid (all students, faculty, & staff - see below for more information)
  • create your UTORid (others)
Password Management
  • setup forgotten password utility (students only)
  • change your password
  • reset your forgotten password (students only)
Make Changes
  • change options: UTORmail forwarding, auto-reply, spam filtering, delete UTORweb, etc
  • add UTORweb personal web space
  • change your UTORmail e-mail address
  • migrate from UTORmail to UTORexchange (faculty and staff only)
Get Information
  • get information
    • What is your UTORid?
    • UTORmail information, including options, disk usage, etc
    • UTORweb disk usage
    • UTORid modification history
