Title: Meaningful Music - Grade 6
Each student in the song chooses one song that is meaningful to them, their parents, or their culture. Each student brings a copy (tape, CD or mp3) of the song to class, with lyrics printed up for the class. The students give a brief (5 minute) explanation of why the song is meaningful, and why they chose it. If you have a diverse class, this can be an excellent opportunity to expose your students to different kinds of music.
