GSA Special Project Funding

The GSA is pleased to provide up to a maximum of $200 in funding for projects/events related to OISE student activities. Fill out the following application and send it as an email attachment to finance.gsa@utoronto.ca. Remember to use your utoronto email account, as all correspondence regarding funding will need to be through this account.

Successful applicants are required to submit copies of receipts within 30 days after project completion to substantiate expenditures up to the amount granted and receive the approved Special Project funding. Failure to comply may result in the denial of subsequent applications from the same applicant in the following academic year (September 1 to August 31).

New for December 2016 - May 2017

Courtesy of the Indigenous Caucus unLtd. (ICU), an additional bonus of up to $100.00 will complement the base amount of OISE GSA Special Project Funding in cases where the proposed project convincingly demonstrates a commitment to team work, first and foremost, by and for OISE students, specifically in overcoming – through innovative, imaginative collaborations, and coalition building – persisting yet avoidable divides around race, ethnicity, gender, class, differential ability, etc. Let this be OISE students' statement in celebrating a truly equitable future for Canada in 2017!

To qualify for this additional $100, you do not need to fill in any other form. Upon receiving a completed Special Project application form from you, the GSA will forward your application to the Indigenous Caucus unLtd. (ICU) to be considered for additional funding.

ICU is an Indigenous-nonIndigenous collaboration, which would welcome ICU chapters in academic establishments and among the public. We align with an Indigenous professor's remark that, "after all, we are all indigenous to planet Earth". Thus, we are all socially-environmentally responsible for every single inch of it and all that is on it! ICU has sponsored members of GSA Council to attend the 10th Decolonizing the Spirit Conference, November 2016; it is a contributor to the "No More Silence" movement, Amnesty International's defense of Teodora Vasquez and of CAMH's project for prevention of escalating youth suicide.

*Please note that the Indigenous Caucus unLtd. is not an official GSA committee/caucus
