Conference Accessibility

The success of this conference largely depends on the full participation of all attendees. As your co-chairs, we aim to make this event accessible to a variety of needs. We are therefore committed the University of Toronto’s Statement of Commitment Regarding Persons with Disabilities.

We invite conference participants to let us know what we can do to help them get the most out of the event and remove any barriers to participation. Please reach out to us at: oise.gsrc@utoronto.ca or +16475566784 and we will gladly assist you to accommodate any requests.

Participant Accessibility

The conference will take place on the ground, 2nd, 5th, 8th, and 12th floors. Please use this link for any concerns about the physical accessibility of the space. A full list of rooms is available on our website; please refer to the above link for both interior and exterior accessibility options and contact your co-chairs with any concerns.

OISE has three gender accessible restrooms. They are located on the ground, 5th, and 12th floors.

To promote sustainable practices and reduce waste, we will have limited water bottles available on site. Instead, we kindly encourage all participants to bring their reusable water bottles, which can be conveniently refilled at various water bottle refill stations located throughout OISE. These stations include smaller, standard fountains on almost every floor beside the elevators, as well as larger, motion-sensor refill fountains situated on the main floor near the staircase leading to the subway and in the 5th-floor lounge. During lunch, refillable cups will be available at the registration desk.

We have carefully considered all dietary restrictions and are pleased to offer nut free, dairy/lactose free, shellfish-free, vegan, vegetarian, and Halal meals. Please do not take an allergy-considerate meal if you have not signed up for one. Specific numbers of each meal were ordered based upon dietary requests made in our registration form. Thank you for your understanding!

We are also pleased to offer a Mindful Wellness Space on the 8th floor in room 8280 to protect against sensory over-stimulation. This room will serve as a quiet, mindfully reflective place for participants to decompress. Quiet activities, including coloring stations and four mindfulness workshops, will be available in this space for the duration of the conference. Please see our website for more details.

Photography and Video Policy

We will have a social media manager doing non-flash photography and video throughout the event. We ask that if you will be taking your own photos or videos, please request consent from all individuals and small groups before taking photos or videos; our social media manager will be doing the same.
