In Memoriam: Hrishikesh Inguva Venkata Sai Lakshmi, SJE EdD student
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Hrishikesh Inguva Venkata Sai Lakshmi, a doctoral student in the EdD program in Social Justice Education and an active, valued member of our community. Hrishikesh’s kindness, intellectual curiosity, and generous spirit left a lasting impact on those around him. His work reflected a strong sense of purpose, contributing meaningfully to his field and inspiring peers and colleagues alike. Hrishikesh passed away suddenly at just 36 years old due to a heart attack. Visitation and funeral services were held on March 26, 2026, at Brampton Funeral Home & Cemetery.
The family and friends of Hrishikesh have also set up a GoFundMe campaign to support his wife, Chandrika, who is caring for their one-year-old child and expecting another. Those who wish to contribute can do so here: https://gofund.me/5b0cd655a.
During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by his life and work. This loss is felt across many spaces—within classrooms, research communities, and personal relationships—and its impact is profound.
