Kiera Brant-Birioukov
Born and raised on the Ridge Road in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Kiera is a Mohawk educator, researcher, writer, and scholar within Indigenous education. She is a co-founder of Ridge Road Training & Consulting, Inc., with her husband and mom. Kiera began her journey in Indigenous educational research as an academic, where she was Assistant Professor of Indigenous Education at York University. Since then, she has returned to her roots as a community-based researcher, where she can prioritize ethics and community needs to make meaningful change.
Kiera is a recognized expert in Indigenous educational research and methodologies across Canada. She specializes in curriculum and resource development, professional development facilitation, and redefining the frameworks and discourses we use within Indigenous educational landscapes. She is deeply passionate about facilitating conversations for change, where she takes immense pride in keynote presentations that uplift, inspire, and spark joy.
