The Educational Leadership and Policy (ELP) program offers cohort-based programming for MEd and EdD students is available in select years.
In order to support the cohort model, there is a specified sequence to the required courses. On this page, you'll find schedules for cohorts currently running.

2015 EdD at the University of Toronto Mississauga Cohort

The EdD Cohort in Educational Leadership and Policy at University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) was designed to increase accessibility for students living west of the GTA. Most core corses are offered at the University of Toronto, Mississauga, and electives are offered both at OISE and online.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
1. Coursework: 5 core mandatory half-courses, and 3 elective half-courses, one of which must be at the 3000-level.
2. Comprehensive examination
3. Thesis proposal hearing
4. Thesis: One component of which may be a document of the kind used in the field, such as a policy document or policy handbook, white paper or restructuring plan.SCHEDULE

The Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy's hybrid/online cohort is a part-time degree program where students complete one course per term and move through the program as a group.

- 4 courses are open electives; these can be taken online or in-class

2016 MEd Cohort, GTA West

This program serves students who live and/or work in the West area of the GTA by offering its core courses at the University of Toronto's Mississauga campus (UTM). Students move through the program as a group, and complete one course per term.
All Educational Leadership and Policy MEd students are accepted into a course-only program. Students who wish to go on to doctoral studies should discuss their options with the course coordinator, or apply to switch to a program option that includes a major research paper or thesis. This switch normally takes place after the student has completed three or four courses. Students making this switch may finish the program at a different time.

The 2018 doctoral cohort in Educational Leadership and Policy is intended to shape highly competent leadership positions in school systems and other educational institutions. It is specifically designed for working professional educators who want to develop the intellectual and research skills that will help them refine their practice as leaders in educational systems.

This online doctoral cohort is specifically designed for mid-career professionals who work for international organizations, governments, foundations and nongovernmental agencies looking to enrich their education and improve their practice. The program concentrates on those elements of theory and research that are of direct assistance in understanding and resolving problems and issues confronting educational policy makers, practitioners and leaders in international settings.
