Check E-Zine produced by LHAE graduate students Yasmine Hassen, Liujia (Ian) Tian and Jann Houston.
Through poetry, essays, photography and digital art this project was a pedagogy of public education and awareness within the academy and community spheres and depicts the potential impacts of surveillance for Covid-19 and the resilience of communities. E-Zine was produced with funds from the U of T Covid-19 Student Engagement Award.

Toronto's Rich Neighbourhoods Opt for In-Person School
ELP Prof Katyn Chmielewski and Omar Khan, a computer scientist, analyzed TDSB registration survey results and concluded that parents in the most economically advantaged schools overwhelmingly opted for in-person rather than virtual school. In contrast, a smaller share of parents in middle and lower-income schools preferred in-person school.

In this SRHE funded study, Emma will examine how certain types of knowledge have been recognized and thus how merit has been determined and rewarded over time. This will be examined by using the University of London (UoL) archives on scholarships from 1903 to 1993.

LHAE students have received a U of T Covid-19 Student Engagement Award.
Yasmine Hassen, PI, Jann Houston and Ian Liujia Tian, co-applicants, titled their research: False Freedom: biocarding, bio-surveillance and pedagogies for community care in the world of Covid-19.
They will highlight the potential impacts of biocarding and explore the ways immunity passports for Covid-19, as a solution to enable people to move about their communities, could disproportionately affect certain members of our society including queer, trans, disabled, Black, Indigenous and Peoples of Colour communities.
