Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education

Master's Degree Programs

The Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education (LHAE) offers two types of master's degree programs: Masters of Arts and Masters of Education. Each degree serves a different purpose, depending on your career or educational goal.

Master's programs can be taken on a part-time or full-time basis.

  • A part-time course load is normally two half courses per academic year (fall and winter).
  • A full-time course load is typically six half courses per academic year (fall and winter).
  • A small number of courses is also offered during the summer terms.

Master of Arts (MA)

Our research, thesis-based MA programs are designed for those who wish to pursue a research career or doctoral-level studies:

Master of Education (MEd)

Our MEd programs are coursework-based and designed for the professional development of practitioners. Some of our MEd programs offer a thesis option or MRP for those interested in research.
