Welcome and congratulations!
Your recent admission to OISE’s Master of Teaching degree program means that you have been granted acceptance into Canada’s highest ranked educational institute. In fact, we were rated number five in the world in the recent QS rankings. We are also Canada’s only all-graduate institute of teaching, learning, and research. These are precisely the activities that you will immerse yourself in as a member of our scholarly community, and we are very excited to have you join us.
As an MT candidate you will have opportunities to learn from and with expert faculty, to access varied field placements, to develop research skills, and to become a valued member of a range of teaching and learning communities—including your individual cohort, your MT program, OISE more broadly, and the schools and classrooms within which you are placed. You will also enjoy the enormous resources of the University of Toronto, one of the world’s great universities.
We are confident that your contributions will further enrich our dynamic community and further actualize our commitment to learning and equity in schools and beyond.
We look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Dean, Glen A. Jones
