Equity Committee Statement: Focusing on Equity in Times of Crisis - April 7, 2020


The Council of the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) is the highest governing body regarding academic matters that oversees governance activities of the Faculty.

OISE Council and its Standing Committees make decisions about academic policies and priorities for teaching, learning and research at OISE. Council's specific responsibilities could be summarized as follows:

  • establish policies regarding academic matters
  • establish committees for the conduct of council business
  • advise the Dean on academic matters
  • approve and regulate standards of admissions
  • approve new or changes to the existing academic programs and units

OISE Council meeting dates for 2022-2023 (mark your calendars!):

  • Wednesday, October 26, 2022
  • Wednesday, December 14, 2022
  • Wednesday, February 22, 2023
  • Wednesday, April 26, 2023

All Council meetings take place from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in room 12-199 at OISE, 252 Bloor Street West.

Please note: In 2022-2023, OISE Council meetings will be held in-person only; however, meetings may pivot to a virtual format depending on public health guidance. Standing Committees of Council may offer hybrid participation options; please check with the relevant committee secretary (below) closer to the meeting date to confirm all details.
