TA Appointment for 2019/20 - Student's Intent to Continue


Below is a list of all the TA appointments for which you are guaranteed an offer of a subsequent appointment in 2019/2020.  As per Article 16:06(5) of the CUPE 3902, Unit 1 Collective Agreement, please indicate your intent to continue with or decline your TA appointment in 2019/2020.

You are required to indicate your intent to continue within 20 working days of your email notification.  Email notification was sent to you on March 8, 2019.  If you do not respond within 20 working days, the system will assume that you are declining your appointment for 2019/2020.  The Deadline is April 5, 2019

Please note:

1.    You must be registered as a full-time student in September 2019 to take up the offer. 

2.    We will be using the information you provide for planning purposes only.  Indicating that you will continue is not a guarantee that you will be offered the same assignment with the same supervisor. The maximum hours guaranteed will be 280 hours.

3.    As per Article 16:06(7) of the CUPE 3902, Unit 1 Collective Agreement, we are contractually obligated to provide you with an offer of a subsequent appointment.  However, the provisions of Article 16:03 (Hiring Criteria) shall not apply to these subsequent appointment offers.

4.    We will be sending you all messages pertaining to your TA assignment to your email address that is indicated on ROSI, which is displayed below in the "My Info" box.  Please ensure that your email address is accurate.  If you need to update it, kindly do so on ROSI and the information will automatically be updated here within 24 hours.

For the purposes of this system, an appointment is defined as your initial assignment plus your 5 subsequent assignments (if applicable). An assignment is the job that you will perform as part of your appointment.

Each appointment will show on a separate line. Click on "View Appointment Details" to display the list of assignments that belong to that appointment.  If you have multiple appointments, you will see multiple lines. 

For each of your appointments listed you have three choices in the drop down menu under "Choice":

1.    Continue in 2019/2020 and receive a teaching assistantship offer

2.    Decline a teaching assistantship offer in 2019/2020

3.    Other (with an opportunity to provide some comments)

Select your choice for 2019/2020 and click "Save Choice".  You may make changes to your choice up until April 5, 2019 at which time your choice will be final.
